Welcome to Reclaiming Shalom, LLC. By engaging in coaching or narrative-focused trauma care services, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are intended to foster clarity, safety, and mutual respect in our work together.
1. Nature of Services
Reclaiming Shalom, LLC offers one-on-one story work, story group facilitation, coaching, and trauma-informed care rooted in biblical and narrative-based principles.
Chris is not licensed by any state as a mental health practitioner. His work is grounded in his certification in Narrative Focused Trauma Care through The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. In addition, Chris brings decades of experience as a Pastoral Counselor and he is committed to ongoing professional growth through continuing education and training.
These services are not a substitute for licensed mental health treatment or medical advice. While this work may be deeply healing, it is not psychotherapy or clinical treatment.
If you are in crisis or need mental health support, please contact a licensed mental health provider or a local emergency resource.
2. Scheduling and Session Policies
Each individual session is 50 minutes in length and scheduled in advance by mutual agreement. Sessions may be conducted virtually or in person (when available).
Rescheduling or Cancellation:
You may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice. This helps ensure availability for others and respect for both our time.
Missed Sessions or Late Cancellations:
If you do not attend a scheduled session or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full session fee will still apply. This policy reflects a commitment to mutual responsibility and protects the time set aside for you.
3. Payment Terms
Fees for one-on-one sessions are payable immediately following the session, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Fees for story group participation are due in full prior to the first group session.
Payment is accepted via credit/debit through a payment link.
No Refunds Policy:
All payments are final and non-refundable. This is because your session time is reserved exclusively for you, and preparation is done in advance with care. In addition, this work is relational and experiential in nature; as such, results cannot be guaranteed. The value of this work depends greatly on your engagement, openness, and timing, and I honor your autonomy in how you choose to participate.
Once you have applied and been accepted for a Story Group, your payment is non-refundable. Your spot in the Story Group is reserved for you, and cancellation affects the entire group and my ability to fill the group (which adversely affects the group dynamic).
If you have concerns about any aspect of our work together, please don’t hesitate to bring them up. My goal is always to create a safe and trusting space for you.
4. Confidentiality
Everything you share in a session is held in confidence and will not be shared with others without your written permission, unless required by law (such as in cases of suspected abuse, harm to self or others, or court order). Notes may be kept privately and securely to support continuity of care.
5. Communication
Between sessions, you may reach out via email with scheduling questions or short clarifying messages. More in-depth or emotionally significant matters should be reserved for session time, so we can hold it with care and presence.
6. Consent and Autonomy
Participation in coaching or story work is entirely voluntary. You have the right to pause, withdraw, or modify your participation at any time. Your voice, story, and boundaries will always be honored in this space.
7. Technology and Privacy
For virtual sessions, a secure video platform will be used. You are responsible for ensuring you are in a private and safe environment during sessions. Please do not record any part of a session without prior written agreement. Please ensure your software is up-to-date and internet connection is stable to support a consistent session experience.
8. Changes to Terms
Reclaiming Shalom, LLC reserves the right to update these terms at any time. When significant changes are made, you will be notified directly.
